Brink

Brink is a Bitcoin research and development centre that supports open-source Bitcoin developers.

Brink says it was founded in 2020 with financial support from John Pfeffer and Wences Casares and is funded entirely by donations from individuals and organisations that want to support the open-source Bitcoin network [brink.dev]. It mentors new contributors to open-source Bitcoin development through a fellowship programme and funds established Bitcoin protocol engineers through a grants programme. Its team page mentions an office in London, and its board includes independent members alongside co-founder Mike Schmidt.

Co-founder and Executive Director Mike Schmidt (also a Bitcoin Optech contributor) is a Cypher Tank judge. Events: Cypher Tank.
