Btrust says it locates, educates and pays Bitcoin open-source engineers in the Global South.

Btrust says it was founded in 2021 with a 500 BTC donation from Jack Dorsey and Jay-Z [btrust.tech]. Its stated mission is to grow a critical mass of Bitcoin and Lightning open-source developers in the Global South, on the view that decentralising the people who build Bitcoin makes the network more resilient. Programmes listed on its site include funding grants, the Btrust Builders track for developers starting a career in open source, Dev Day and BitDevs meetups [btrust.tech].
