David Chaum: Cryptographer; invented blind signatures and ecash, founded DigiCash. Pioneer of digital cash and online anonymity: blind signatures, mix networks and the Dining Cryptographers protocol. His company DigiCash launched eCash in 1995. The Bitcoin whitepaper does not cite him, and there is no documented contact with Satoshi.
